Rohtas, Bihar: The Bihar police initiated action after a revenue official filed a complaint stating that his office received an application for a residence certificate in the name of a cat.

An unusual case has emerged in Rohtas district where an application for a residence certificate was filed in the name of a cat. The applicant’s details listed “Cat Kumar” as the name, with “Catty Boss” as the father and “Catiya Devi” as the mother.

Following the directives of Rohtas District Magistrate Udita Singh, Nasriganj Revenue Officer Kaushal Patel registered a case against unknown persons at Nasriganj police station, and an investigation has been launched.

In a letter to the police, the revenue officer stated, “This act of the applicant has obstructed official work. It appears to be a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the government and public services. The online service system has been misused and distorted by the applicant providing a fake name, address, and photo.”

The incident sparked laughter on social media, with many users finding it amusing. However, others criticized the applicant for wasting the time of officials already overwhelmed with applications. Netizens also demanded a probe to identify and take action against the person responsible for the act.
