Rahul Banerjee death: Bengali industry calls strike, no shooting from Tuesday

Kolkata: The Artists’ Forum, after a meeting held on Sunday evening, decided to call for a complete halt in shooting activities across the Bengali industry from Tuesday, according to multiple media reports.
The decision was taken following discussions involving prominent members of the industry, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Kaushik Gangopadhyay and Priyanka Sarkar.
The strike has been described as a collective move to demand improved safety measures for artists and crew members working on sets.
Demand for safety and investigation
The forum stated that the strike will continue until adequate safety arrangements are ensured at shooting locations. Industry members have raised concerns over working conditions and the need for accountability following Rahul Banerjee’s death.

The complaint reportedly alleges negligence and unsafe working conditions during the shoot. Legal sections have been invoked in the FIR, and the matter is currently under investigation.
