AISA President Neha Bora attacked with ink at Jharkhand protest; attacker calls Her anti-national

Ranchi: A man threw ink on All India Students' Association president Neha Bora on Friday during a demonstration towards the Jharkhand Assembly protesting alleged irregularities in state recruitment examinations, accusing her of being "anti-national".

The incident took place near Birsa Chowk as demonstrators headed by two student groups — AISA and the All India Students' Federation (AISF) — were marching toward the assembly building.

Responding to the attack, Bora said, "I am not going to be scared by throwing of ink as I faced pellet-gun fire and baton charge in Delhi protest."

"We were holding a peaceful march. A man suddenly emerged out of the crowd and threw ink at Bora," said Shivani, an AISA representative.

She claimed that the individual was a thug backed by the BJP.

The suspect accused of throwing the ink was taken into custody by police, an officer confirmed.

Speaking to reporters, the man said, "Bora is a supporter of Umar Khalid. I don't like her. She is an anti-national."
