Aavin Green Magic milk rumours debunked as supply continues normally

Chennai: State-run dairy cooperative Aavin has clarified that its green-packaged “Green Magic” milk has not been discontinued and continues to be distributed as usual, rejecting recent media reports suggesting a reduction in supply.

The company said claims that production or distribution of the 4.5 per cent fat milk variant had been cut were false and misleading. It added that all its milk varieties, including Green Magic, remain available without any interruption.

Recent reports had alleged that lower procurement levels had led to reduced supply of Green Magic milk, forcing some consumers to turn to costlier private brands. However, Aavin denied any such shortage and reiterated that distribution was being carried out to meet consumer demand.

According to the company’s pricing, a 225 ml packet of Green Magic milk is sold at ₹11, while a 500 ml pack costs ₹22.

Aavin has urged the public not to believe incorrect reports and to rely on official communication regarding product availability.

Following the controversy, PMK leader and former Union Minister Anbumani Ramadoss also called on the Tamil Nadu government to clarify the situation and ensure that there is no disruption in the supply of fresh milk to consumers.
