Illegal gambling: 80 arrested, Rs 29 lakh seized in Odisha’s Nuapada

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police apprehended 80 individuals from the Janka area of Nuapada district on Sunday for their suspected involvement in illegal gambling activities. During raids conducted late Saturday at a secluded building, authorities seized approximately Rs 29 lakh in cash.

“The gambling den was operating in the area for a long time and a large number of people, including local businessmen, indulged in gambling,” a police statement said.

In addition, various gambling equipment was recovered from the site. A case has been filed, and further investigations are currently ongoing, according to police officials.
