Bengaluru: A 23-year-old woman died after falling from a paying guest accommodation in Bengaluru's Whitefield area on Sunday, while a 30-year-old man who was also involved in the incident survived with multiple injuries, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment, they said.

The deceased was identified as Janani, a software engineer employed with a private company in Pattandur Agrahara. She was a native of Puducherry and had been staying at a PG accommodation on ECC Road in Whitefield, police said.

The injured man was identified as Manichavelu, an employee of a logistics company in Puducherry who resides in Nallathur in the Union Territory.

According to police, the two had gone to the seventh floor of a Co-Live PG on ECC Road before the incident occurred.

Janani died at the spot, while Manichavelu suffered multiple injuries and was shifted to a hospital. Police reached the location after being alerted by local residents and sent Janani's body for post-mortem examination.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and trying to determine whether the two knew each other or were in a relationship. Their backgrounds are also being verified as part of the investigation.
