Leopard rescued from well in Maharashtra after farmer alerts forest officials

A leopard that accidentally fell into a well in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district was successfully rescued by forest department personnel on Friday.

The incident occurred in a farmland area where the big cat is believed to have approached the well in search of water. While attempting to drink, the leopard reportedly slipped and fell into the well.

Farmer Shivrat Vikram Rathore first noticed something unusual early in the morning after hearing strange sounds coming from the well on his farm. When he went to check, he was startled to find the leopard struggling inside, clinging to a water pipe to stay above the water and avoid drowning.

Rathore immediately alerted the forest department. Responding swiftly to the call, forest officials reached the spot and carried out a rescue operation. The team managed to safely pull the leopard out of the well without causing harm to the animal.
