Kanwar Yatra 2026: Delhi devotee's Kanwar covered in currency notes goes viral
As preparations for Kanwar Yatra 2026 continue, a unique Kanwar decorated with Indian currency notes has drawn widespread attention. Deepanshu, a pilgrim from Delhi, has designed his Kanwar using Rs 100, Rs 50, Rs 20, and Rs 10 currency notes. To ensure the notes are neither damaged nor disrespected during the pilgrimage, he has carefully laminated them. Deepanshu said new, crisp note bundles were used and added that if his wish is fulfilled, he plans to carry an even bigger Kanwar next year. He and his friends began their journey from Delhi to Haridwar on Monday, covering more than 200 kilometres. According to fellow pilgrim Anuj Kumar, the group is travelling with a full team to manage security and coordination while ensuring they do not cause traffic disruptions. The Kanwar Yatra, held during the holy month of Sawan, officially begins on July 30 and concludes on August 11, drawing millions of Lord Shiva devotees every year.
