Kangra Landslide: Heavy rain triggers massive destruction in Himachal Pradesh's Boh Valley

A massive landslide triggered by intense heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh has destroyed several houses in Boh Valley of Kangra district, leaving many families homeless and disrupting normal life. Disaster management teams have been deployed to carry out rescue and relief operations as authorities monitor the situation amid continuing rainfall.

Officials said there has been no loss of human life, but several livestock animals were killed in the landslide. Residents have suffered significant property damage, with multiple homes reduced to rubble after the hillside gave way.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Kangra and Mandi districts, while a yellow alert remains in effect for parts of Chamba, Kullu, Shimla, Solan, and Sirmaur on Wednesday.

The weather department has also warned that the ongoing wet spell across Himachal Pradesh is likely to continue until July 27, raising concerns over additional landslides, flash floods, and rain-related incidents in vulnerable hill regions.
