Monsoon provides respite to Goa while sparking heavy rain warnings across Andhra Pradesh
The southwest monsoon has finally gained momentum across parts of India, bringing rain relief and cooler temperatures after days of sweltering heat and humidity.
In Goa, light to moderate rainfall has been recorded since the evening of June 21, transforming beaches and tourist hotspots into refreshing monsoon destinations.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall activity is expected to increase over the next five days, with moderate showers likely across the region and isolated heavy rainfall at some locations.
Tourists visiting Goa said the monsoon weather has created a pleasant atmosphere compared to peak summer conditions.
Meanwhile, along India’s east coast, Andhra Pradesh is also witnessing changing weather patterns. IMD Visakhapatnam has forecast light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms across Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, with heavy rainfall warnings issued for selected districts.
Authorities continue monitoring vulnerable regions as monsoon activity strengthens.
