Coimbatore: Coimbatore’s GeDee Car Museum is set to launch an exclusive high-performance cars section on October 22, bringing together forty legendary supercars from around the world. The collection will include models from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, and Lotus, offering car enthusiasts an up-close look at some of the fastest and most refined machines ever built.

Museum officials said the new section aims to attract younger audiences by showcasing the evolution of automotive engineering—from vintage classics and Indian-made models to today’s precision-built supercars.

“Compared to the olden cars, the technology used in the present cars is very, very sophisticated. It can be made with the present technology by high-precision machining,” an official said, highlighting the contrast between the craftsmanship of early automobiles and the advanced engineering of modern supercars.

Located on Coimbatore’s Avinashi Road, the GeDee Car Museum was founded by the late GD Naidu, one of Tamil Nadu’s most respected industrialists and innovators, to promote awareness of motoring history and mechanical technology.

The GeDee Car Museum has long been a landmark attraction for car lovers in southern India, featuring a diverse collection of vintage vehicles, rare Indian models, and historic European classics. The addition of a high-performance car wing marks a major expansion of its exhibits, bridging the gap between the golden age of motoring and the high-speed engineering of the modern era.

The upcoming display will feature cars known for their technological innovation, aerodynamic design, and record-breaking performance. Visitors will be able to explore the progression of automobile technology, from early mechanical marvels to contemporary high-precision engineering that defines today’s supercars.

With the new section, the museum hopes to inspire a new generation of engineers, designers, and enthusiasts—while giving the public a rare chance to admire cars that typically remain out of reach on the open road.

The new wing opens to visitors on October 22, 2025, at the GeDee Car Museum, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.
