Meet Gujarat's 'Bhishma Pitamah of cycling': The 62-year-old who hasn't stopped riding for 48 years
On World Bicycle Day, 62-year-old Bomi Jagirdar from Navsari, Gujarat, is inspiring cyclists across the country with a remarkable achievement — cycling every day for the past 48 years.
Jagirdar began participating in cycling races at the age of 14 and has remained committed to the sport ever since. Known among fellow cyclists as the "Bhishma Pitamah of cycling", he has completed several long-distance expeditions across India, including a 1,500-km Delhi-to-Mumbai ride in seven days, a 4,000-km Kashmir-to-Kanyakumari journey in 15 days, and a 2,000-km ride from Navsari to Nepal in 2024.
