Mumbai: The 19th season of Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan, is gearing up for its grand premiere on August 24, 2025, on JioCinema’s JioHotstar and Colors TV. While the official list of contestants is still under wraps, buzz is building around a major international name—former American boxing legend Mike Tyson.

According to a Times of India report, the makers are in “advanced talks” with the 59-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers in history. Negotiations over his fees are currently underway. If finalised, Tyson is expected to enter the Bigg Boss house in October for about a week to 10 days.

A source close to the development said, “The team wants a global celebrity like Tyson to boost the show’s appeal. International names have always added an extra spark to Bigg Boss in past seasons.”

Nicknamed the Baddest Man on the Planet, Tyson was the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990 and remains the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title. He retired in 2005 but has occasionally stepped back into the ring for exhibition fights.

This season comes with the theme “Gharwaalon ki Satta”, which puts more power in the hands of contestants—from assigning household chores to introducing game-changing twists, their choices will shape the course of the show. Promoted as the longest season yet, Bigg Boss 19 will see episodes stream first on JioHotstar, with Colors airing them an hour and a half later.

Salman Khan will host for the first three months, after which guest hosts such as Farah Khan, Karan Johar, or Anil Kapoor may step in.

Though the final contestant lineup is yet to be announced, names likely to enter the house include Ashnoor Kaur, Abhishek Bajaj, Awez Darbar, Nagma Mirajkar, Shehbaz Badesha, Mridul Tiwari, Siwet Tomar, Baseer Ali, and Hunar Hale.
