Watch: Basil Joseph rescues Mohanlal as Superman in viral video

A funny AI-generated video featuring veteran Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and actor-director Basil Joseph has taken social media by storm.

In the viral clip, Mohanlal is seen wearing a white T-shirt and a headset inside a plane, when he realises the pilot is none other than Salim Kumar’s character from CID Moosa. Alarmed, Mohanlal jumps out of the plane in fear. On the ground, Basil Joseph appears dressed as Superman and swoops in to save the legendary actor, Mohanlal. The video, shared by Instagrammer ihafix, quickly gained traction and even caught Basil Joseph’s attention, who commented, “Out of syllabus Superman.”

Meanwhile, Mohanlal is set to star in Vrusshabha, an upcoming epic action-drama directed by Nanda Kishore. The film features an ensemble cast including Samarjit Lankesh, Shanaya Kapoor, Zahrah S. Khan, Srikanth, and Ragini Dwivedi. Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures alongside other production houses, the film is being simultaneously shot in Telugu and Malayalam, with plans for a release in five languages.

Basil Joseph, known for his acclaimed films Minnal Murali and Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, recently expanded his creative horizons by launching his own production company, Basil Joseph Entertainment. Taking to Instagram to unveil the new logo, Basil expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter, stating, “Trying something I have never done before—producing films… I want to tell stories better, bolder, and in new ways.” His announcement was warmly received by fans and industry figures alike, including Indian cricketer Sanju Samson, who congratulated him publicly.

Basil Joseph’s latest acting work includes the film Maranamass, directed by Sivaprasad in his debut, featuring actors Anishma Anilkumar, Babu Antony, Siju Sunny, and others in supporting roles.
