Indian BTS fans may be closer than ever to seeing their long-awaited dream come true. A single line from Kim Taehyung, better known as V, during a Weverse live on 27 December has sparked a wave of excitement across the country and reignited hopes of an India stop on BTS’s 2026 world tour.

What began as a routine fan interaction took a surprising turn when V greeted viewers with a warm “Namaste" before adding the now-viral phrase: “Namaste, namaste Indian ARMY. See you next year!" Though brief, the message was powerful enough to send social media into overdrive, with fans reading it as the closest thing yet to a confirmation.

Indian ARMY, who have supported BTS for years without ever experiencing a concert at home, flooded timelines with emotional reactions. Posts ranged from disbelief to exhilaration, with one fan writing, “Wowww this is true. God himself confirmed,” while another exclaimed, “OMG CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST HEARD!!!!”

The comment has arrived at a time when BTS is gearing up for a massive 2026 comeback, intensifying speculation that India may finally be included on the tour map.

Why V’s comment has sparked frenzy

During the Weverse live, V discussed birthday ads and reminisced about BTS’s HYYH era. But the moment that shook the fandom was his unexpected shout-out to Indian supporters: “Namaste, namaste Indian ARMY. See you next year…”

Even without an official statement from HYBE, the label’s reluctance to either confirm or deny the buzz has only fuelled theories. While HYBE maintains the chatter is “unverified speculation,” fans insist the timing is too perfect to ignore.

One ARMY wrote, “Hybe opened a india branch so for promotion i think bts will come,” echoing the sentiment shared by thousands online.

HYBE India’s launch strengthens possibilities

Industry watchers point to HYBE INDIA’s establishment in Mumbai in 2025 as a major sign of intent. The agency’s expansion into the country has widely been viewed as a strategic move to tap into India’s massive K-pop audience.

BTS had even considered a Mumbai concert during their ill-fated 2020 tour plans, which were cancelled due to the pandemic. With a local branch now operational and the group preparing for their biggest world tour yet, many fans believe India is finally within reach.

What we know about BTS’s 2026 comeback

The group’s return to full strength came in June 2025, when all seven members – Jin, J-Hope, Suga, RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook – completed their mandatory military service. The band has since reunited and confirmed that a new album is in the works.

Bloomberg reported that HYBE is preparing BTS’s “biggest tour ever” for 2026, expected to begin in the spring. The global run may include 60 to 65 shows, with North America and Europe poised to host major stops. South Korean outlet Naver previously suggested the tour could attract nearly four million fans worldwide, with individual concerts accommodating over 60,000 attendees.

India has rapidly grown as a destination for major international acts, with recent performances by Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa drawing massive crowds. Combined with BTS’s enormous Indian fanbase and HYBE’s local operations, an India concert appears more likely than ever – even if fans are still waiting for official confirmation.
