Renowned Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli has made a surprise appearance in the upcoming video game ‘Death Stranding 2: On the Beach’, developed by celebrated Japanese creator Hideo Kojima. Adding to the excitement, his son SS Karthikeya also makes a brief cameo alongside him.

Clips from the game featuring both Rajamouli and Karthikeya are now gaining traction online, with fans praising the filmmaker’s global presence.

Hideo Kojima, known for his cinematic storytelling and visually stunning video games, is one of the industry’s most acclaimed creators. His collaboration with Rajamouli appears to stem from a relationship that began several years ago.

In April, Kojima held a virtual meeting with Rajamouli and Karthikeya, later sharing a photo of the interaction on social media platform X. Karthikeya reposted the picture, expressing his excitement by writing, “Beyond excited for this (sic).”

Reports indicate that Rajamouli and Kojima have been in contact since 2022. During the promotional tour of RRR, Rajamouli visited Japan, where he explored a 360-degree setup at Kojima’s game studio—hinting at a creative synergy that seems to have culminated in this latest collaboration.

The game is set to release worldwide on PlayStation 5 this Thursday.
