Shane Nigam demands prominence in ‘RDX’ poster; controversial letter to producer out

Kozhikode: Amid the ongoing row over the Kerala film bodies’ temporary ban on actors Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi following repeated complaints of alleged bad behaviour on sets, the details of a controversial letter written by Nigam addressed to ‘RDX’ producer Sophia Paul have emerged on social media.
In the letter, Nigam expressed concern about his character not being given enough prominence in the movie (‘RDX’), wherein he plays the lead role along with two other supporting co-stars. The film also features Antony Pepe alias Antony Varghese and Neeraj Madhav in significant roles.
As per the allegations in the letter, Nigam’s character was not given importance as promised in the agreement. He demanded that his character should be the lead in marketing and branding. He should be prominent in teasers and posters.
Earlier, Shane Nigam had sparked a controversy after he reportedly walked out of the sets of ‘RDX’, directed by Nahas Hidhayath, in the presence of senior actors such as Lal and Babu Antony. Following that, the shooting stopped. The incident came to light after co-actor Antony Varghese shared a Facebook post expressing displeasure over the turn of events.
Meanwhile, the office bearers of the producers’ associations have stated that they will not cooperate with actors who refrain from signing agreements with producers.
The decision in this regard was made at a joint meeting convened by the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) and Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA).
Apparently, serious complaints have been levelled against Sreenath Bhasi too. “He has given same dates to many movies. He won’t reach sets on time and won’t pick up calls. He doesn't even have a clear idea of which projects he has committed so far,” said a producer.
