No difference with Kani Kusruti, some trying to denigrate India's Cannes achievement: Sajin Baabu

Director Sajin Baabu has addressed Actor Kani Kusruti's recent comments regarding their collaboration on the critically acclaimed movie 'Biriyaani.' 

Recently, Kani disclosed to Mathrubhumi that her decision to work in 'Biriyaani' was primarily driven by financial considerations and that she does not align with the film's political narrative.

Sajin had now responded to this by claiming that Kani's salary was fixed in accordance with the budget at that time. He further clarified that Kani had cooperated in all matters related to the film and that there were no personal issues between them.

"I directed the movie 'Biriyaani' a long time ago. Everything about it, including its politics and perspective, is mine. It received numerous awards, including the Best Film award at an international festival in Italy, national awards, state awards, and many international recognitions and accolades. The film's political stance was evident, and when someone asked about it, I had clearly responded to it," he wrote in a social media post. He went on to say that some are trying to use his movie to denigrate the achievement of Indian cinema at the Cannes Film Festival.
