Months after being stabbed by night at his Bandra residence in Mumbai, Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has opened up for the first time on the incident. From recalling the horrific incident to addressing claims that the attack was 'fake', Saif has spoken at length about it during his presence on the latest celebrity chat show – 'Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle'.

Arriving with his 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' co-star Akshay Kumar, Saif told Akshay and the show's hosts – Kajol Devgn And Twinkle Khanna, how his househelp came running outside from his younger son Jehangir's room and said that there's someone in his room with a knife in hand.

Recalling how he was attacked with knives by the intruder, Saif said, "I walked in and I saw this guy. I thought he was smaller than me, which means he's not very large, and I jumped on him." Just as Saif jumped, the intruder started slashing all over him.

"And then he went mad. He had these two knives. He was just slashing all over me. I tried to remember my training and blocked a couple here and there. But then I felt this thump in my back that was really hard," said the 55-year-old star.

Furthermore, he also talked about how he had asked his actor-wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, to take both their children to her sister, Karishma Kapoor's residence, but Taimur, his elder son, decided to go to the hospital with his father.

Just when Saif stopped the rickshaw to go to the hospital, Taimur stopped him and insisted on accompanying him. "At the last minute, Tim said he wanted to come with me, and I was getting a lot of peace looking at him. It was weird. There was a lot of adrenaline. There was a lot of calm," he added.

Saif's reaction to claims that the attack was fake

Following the attack, the 'Devara' actor underwent spine surgery at a private hospital in Mumbai's suburbs, where he was admitted for a week.

While he received a lot of love and well wishes from his industry friends and fans after the attack, there were also some who labelled the attack as 'fake'. The fake claims started doing the rounds after Saif walked out of the hospital on being discharged.

Addressing this, he said, "When it was finished, there were some people and a lot of advice (was being given) on how to go... The media was curious. I kept saying, and nobody was listening to me because I said, 'Listen, if the media is curious, we should settle it. Let me just walk out of the hospital because I can walk.' It was very bad, but it was okay. They stitched it up and I was there for a week. The back was okay, and it was painful to walk. But I could walk. The wheelchair was not required. Somebody suggested I should go in an ambulance. My instinct was, why create any kind of panic or worry with the family, fans, well-wishers, or anyone? Instead, just walk out to send a picture that you're okay. That was the idea, but then there was so much feedback on 'this is fake' and 'that is true'. But that's the kind of world we live in. But this is the reason I did it."
