Review Bombing: Amicus Curiae report to be out this week

Kochi: The much awaited amicus curiae report on ‘review bombing’ will be submitted before the High Court this week. Justice Devan Ramachandran had deputed Adv Shyam Padman as amicus curiae to file a report on menace in the wake of a complaint filed by Mubin Rouf, the director of movie “Aromalinte Adya Pranayam”.

The court had also directed the State police chief to set guidelines for online media.

Meanwhile, the investigation by the Kochi Central Police into cases registered on the complaint filed by Ubaini Ebrahim, the director of movie “Rahel Makan Kora” against some noted youtubers,  is in a halted state. No further action was taken on the complaint filed at the Thiruvananthapuram First Class Judicial Magistrate by Vinayaka Films which produced the movie “Bandra” as well.

Recently, the Malayalam film fraternity had called for a ban on review bombing, the flooding of a website with negative reviews of movies.
