Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi is officially set for theatrical release on 27 March 2026, the actor announced on Ram Navami, alongside the unveiling of the film’s first teaser titled “First Shot”.

The teaser showcases Ram Charan in a rugged, intense avatar, walking into a cricket ground with a bat slung over his shoulder. Dressed in a vest and dhoti, and sporting a cigarette, he exudes a raw, mass appeal. The teaser ends with Charan smashing a cricket ball with ferocity, hinting at a sports-action narrative rooted in rustic settings.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, known for the critically acclaimed Uppena, Peddi is positioned as a rural sports action drama with emotional undertones. The film is being produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and presented under three banners—Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and Vriddhi Cinemas.

The cast includes Janhvi Kapoor in the female lead, along with veteran actors Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu Sharma in pivotal roles. While the teaser focuses solely on Ram Charan, it has sparked anticipation for the larger narrative and the ensemble cast’s contribution.

Music for Peddi is composed by Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman, marking his collaboration with Ram Charan after Kadaram Kondan. The cinematography is being handled by R Rathnavelu, who previously worked with Charan on Rangasthalam. The production design is helmed by Avinash Kolla and editing by Navin Nooli.

This will be Ram Charan’s first theatrical release following Game Changer, a political thriller directed by S. Shankar. With Peddi, the actor appears to be returning to his mass roots, blending action and sentiment with a rural flavour.

The teaser has received wide appreciation on social media, with fans praising Ram Charan’s screen presence and the film’s high production value. The hashtag #PeddiFirstShot trended shortly after the release, further amplifying the buzz.

Peddi is expected to be one of the major Telugu releases of 2026, with its release date locked to coincide with Ram Charan’s birthday, adding to the celebratory appeal for his fans. The film is also rumoured to feature themes of social justice and community pride, though the makers have not revealed specific plot details yet.

With an A-list team both in front of and behind the camera, Peddi is shaping up to be a potential blockbuster in the making.
