Rajinikanth will always be the ‘superstar’ of Tamil cinema: Vijay

Chennai: During the success meet of his latest movie ‘Leo’, Thalapthy Vijay reasserted that there is only one reigning superstar in Kollywood. “Now, there is no room for doubt, he is our favourite superstar forever,” Vijay said, referring to the veteran actor Rajinikanth.

“There is only one Puratchi Thalaivar, similarly there is only one Nadikar Thilakam, only one Ulaga Nayakan and only Thala in the Tamil film industry. Nobody can replace them. Meanwhile, I need not tell you who is the undisputed superstar of Tamil industry. The crown will always belong to the man. I am just a commander (Thalapathy), who listens to his people,” Vijay said, addressing the gathering at the mega event.

The actor asked his audience to refrain from online fan fights. The movie ‘Leo’, which has already crossed the magical figures of Rs 500 crores at global box office, seems to show no signs of slowing down. It should be noted that the audio launch function of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial was cancelled due to overflowing pass requests and safety constraints. But Thalapathy fans did not miss out on the opportunity to celebrate the unfathomable stardom of Vijay this time round, their joy knew no bounds.
