Rajamouli surprises crowd by speaking in Malayalam; Prithviraj says, ‘we must meet in Kochi too, Sir’

At the ‘Globetrotter Event’ of the epic film Varanasi, director SS Rajamouli greeted Prithviraj in Malayalam, surprising everyone. The event was held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, attended by nearly 50,000 people. Rajamouli unexpectedly spoke in Malayalam, and Prithviraj responded in Malayalam as well.
As Prithviraj finished his speech and was about to leave the stage, Rajamouli, who was seated in the audience, took the microphone and said in Malayalam, “Entha mashe, adipoli” (“What’s this, sir? Fantastic!”). Prithviraj replied, “We should meet in Kochi too, sir.” The packed audience received the exchange with loud cheers. The film’s lead actor Mahesh Babu watched with amusement and smiled. Prithviraj’s wife Supriya was also present at the event.
Prithviraj plays the villain ‘Kumbha’ in the film. He began his speech by thanking music director Keeravani, saying it was a great honour to get an opportunity to work with him.
Prithviraj also recalled the message Rajamouli had sent inviting him to Varanasi. He spoke about their first meeting and Rajamouli’s storytelling style. Prithviraj added that Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri was the first Telugu film he ever watched in a theatre.
