Enjoy the biggest film Pushpa 2 only on...: Makers break silence on OTT release

Mumbai: Fans eagerly awaiting Pushpa 2: The Rule to make its way to OTT platforms will be disappointed, as the makers of the film have confirmed that there are no plans for its digital release anytime soon. Despite the movie’s tremendous success at the box office, the film will remain a theatrical experience for at least the next 56 days. 

In an official statement on X (formerly Twitter), the makers addressed the rumours surrounding the film’s OTT release, saying, “There are rumours floating around about the OTT release of #Pushpa2TheRule. Enjoy the Biggest Film #Pushpa2 only on the Big Screens in this Biggest Holiday Season. It won't be on any OTT before 56 days! It's #WildFirePushpa only in Theatres Worldwide.”

Released on December 5, Pushpa 2: The Rule has made a massive impact at the box office, earning ₹1418 crore worldwide. The movie surpassed Stree 2 and Jawan to become the highest Hindi net grosser in just three weeks. The film has shattered records since its release, becoming one of the biggest openers in Indian cinema history, crossing the ₹180 crore mark at the domestic box office on Day 1 alone.

Directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun in the lead role, Pushpa 2 follows the journey of Pushpa Raj, a sandalwood smuggler who rises to a global level of influence. The sequel builds on the success of Pushpa: The Rise (2021), continuing the saga of Pushpa’s powerful rise in the underworld. Co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, the movie has captivated audiences with its action-packed sequences and gripping storyline.

As Pushpa 2 continues to dominate in theatres, movie lovers now have to wait longer for the film to make its debut on streaming platforms.
