The Indian film industry witnessed a historic moment as Malayalam cinema’s two undisputed titans, Mammootty and Mohanlal, officially launched the trailer for their upcoming espionage thriller, Patriot. Marking their first on-screen collaboration in 18 years, the film is being hailed as the most ambitious and expensive project in the history of Malayalam cinema.

In a first for Indian cinema, the megastars conducted a simultaneous "dual-location" premiere. Mammootty joined a sea of fans at the Ragam Theatre in Thrissur, while Mohanlal presided over the launch at Kavitha Theatre in Ernakulam. The synchronised event sent social media into a frenzy, mirroring the massive reception previously garnered by the film's title teaser.

Directed and written by the acclaimed Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot is described as an international-standard spy thriller. The narrative features high-stakes action sequences involving both leads, supported by a stellar ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Revathi, and Rajiv Menon.

The production is a globetrotting affair, filmed over 12 months across ten different countries—a new record for a Malayalam production. Produced by Anto Joseph and KG Anilkumar, with co-producers CR Saleem and Subhash George Manuel, the film boasts top-tier technical credentials. Bollywood cinematographer Manush Nandan has captured the visuals, while the trending composer Sushin Shyam provides the score.

Reflecting the scale of an international blockbuster, Patriot is scheduled for a grand global theatrical release on 1 May. With its blend of suspense, sophisticated action, and the long-awaited reunion of "Big Ms," the film is poised to be a definitive milestone in Indian celluloid history.
