London: The world is mourning the sudden loss of former One Direction star Liam Payne, who tragically passed away earlier this week in Argentina. Payne, known for his incredible voice and music, died at the age of 31 after falling from the balcony of his Buenos Aires hotel room on Wednesday.

As fans around the globe continue to express their grief, Liam’s family, friends, and former colleagues have shared emotional tributes to honor his memory.

Liam’s sister, Ruth Gibbins, posted a touching tribute on Instagram, expressing her heartbreak and disbelief. In a message addressed to her brother, she wrote, “I don’t feel this world was good enough or kind enough to you.”

Ruth spoke about the struggles Liam faced in recent years and how hard he tried to overcome them.

“You just wanted to be loved and to make people happy with your music,” she added.

Liam’s father, Geoff Payne, flew to Argentina to visit the hotel where his son’s life tragically ended. He also visited the morgue where Liam’s body is being held, pending the results of toxicology tests. Speaking to fans gathered outside the hotel, Geoff thanked them for their support during this painful time.

Cheryl Tweedy, Liam’s former partner and mother of their seven-year-old son, Bear, shared her sorrow, calling his death an “earth-shattering event.” In an emotional post on social media, she also criticized the media for exploiting the tragedy and urged people to be respectful in the wake of Liam’s death. “Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you would like your own family to read them,” she pleaded, asking for dignity and peace for Liam’s memory.

Simon Cowell’s tribute

Simon Cowell, the man behind One Direction’s rise to fame through 'The X Factor', expressed his devastation over Liam’s death. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Cowell said, “I want you to know how much love and respect I have for you.”

He reminisced about his last meeting with Liam, remembering him as the same kind and caring person Cowell had known since his 'X Factor' days. 

The circumstances around Liam’s death

According to the autopsy, Liam suffered from “multiple traumas” and “internal and external hemorrhaging” after falling from the third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires. Investigators have suggested that Payne may have been experiencing issues related to substance abuse at the time of the incident.
