‘No more public comments on Ansiba's complaint; issues will be resolved internally’: Shwetha Menon

Thiruvananthapuram: AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) president Shwetha Menon has stated that she will no longer comment publicly on the grievances raised by actress Ansiba Hassan. Maintaining that there is nothing further to discuss externally, Shwetha said that the ongoing disputes within the association would be resolved strictly behind closed doors.
Ansiba has lodged two separate complaints. The first is an official grievance submitted to the Home Department and the police against actress Lakshmipriya and Thrippunithura Women's Sub-Inspector (SI) Reshma. In this petition, Ansiba alleges that the SI insulted and humiliated her at the police station when she was summoned for questioning in connection with a complaint filed by Lakshmipriya. Her second grievance is a formal complaint filed against actor Tini Tom before the executive committee of the artists' association.
While the executive committee initially proposed to discuss and resolve the issue involving Tini Tom internally, Ansiba rejected the approach. The committee had directed her to appear in person at the AMMA office between June 1 and June 3 to present her evidence. However, Ansiba countered that her grievance should not be heard by the existing AMMA executive committee. Instead, she demanded the constitution of an impartial, independent panel.
For this proposed committee, Ansiba suggested the names of Ramesh Pisharody, Maala Parvathi, and Dhyan Sreenivasan. She further requested that if any of these individuals were unavailable, an alternative member should be appointed only after consulting and reaching an agreement with her. However, reports suggest that the association is highly unlikely to accept Ansiba's demands for a custom panel. Indications are that AMMA intends to refer her complaint against Tini Tom directly to the general body. When contacted regarding these developments, President Shwetha Menon declined to elaborate, reiterating only that the organisation would address and settle all internal matters internally.
