‘No comments, I'm no longer a member’: Bhavana reacts to AMMA's new leadership

Kochi: Actress Bhavana has stated that she has no comments on the new leadership of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). She clarified that she is no longer a member of AMMA and is therefore unaware of the changes in its office-bearers. Bhavana told reporters that she would speak on the matter if and when the situation arises.
Newly elected president Shwetha Menon had earlier told Mathrubhumi News that bringing back those who have left the organisation is not currently on AMMA’s agenda. She explained that anyone wishing to return would have to follow the organisation’s rules and regulations.
“It is my wish, as well as that of several other members, that those who left should come back,” said Shwetha. She added that she would take the initiative, as president, to facilitate their return.
In the organisational elections held on Friday, Shwetha Menon was elected President and Kukku Parameswaran became the General Secretary. For the first time in AMMA’s history, women have assumed the top leadership roles. Lakshmi Priya was elected Vice President, while Ansiba Hassan had earlier been elected unopposed as Joint Secretary.
