Millie Bobby Brown officially changes name one year after wedding to Jake Bongiovi

Millie Bobby Brown is making headlines once again, but this time it’s not for her role in ‘Stranger Things’. The 21-year-old actress recently revealed that she has officially changed her name following her marriage to actor Jake Bongiovi. Brown confirmed the update during a light-hearted chat with VT, where her ‘Stranger Things’ co-star and godfather of her daughter, Noah Schnapp, struggled to guess her new full name.

From Millie Bobby Brown to Millie Bonnie Bongiovi

During the interview, Schnapp first guessed that her name was still “Millie Bonnie Brown” and then added “Bongiovi” at the end, but both attempts were incorrect. Brown clarified, “Drop the Bobby. Drop the Brown. It’s just Millie Bonnie Bongiovi. That’s it.” She jokingly added that with the similar-sounding middle names, she can call herself “Millie Bon Bon.”

Marriage and early parenthood

Brown and Bongiovi, son of rockstar Jon Bon Jovi, announced their engagement in April 2023 and married in May 2024. At the time, Brown was 20 and Bongiovi 22, which sparked discussion online. In a cover story for British Vogue, Brown addressed the attention, saying, “I understood I was young – I know that, I truly just can’t say it enough. When you meet that person, you know it.”

The couple expanded their family this summer by adopting a baby girl. Speaking on the Smartless podcast, Brown explained that becoming a parent at a young age felt natural to her. “My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19,” she said. “This has been my thing since before I met Jake. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”

Parenthood and partnership

Brown described her adoption journey as “beautiful” and “amazing,” adding that their daughter has already taught them valuable lessons. “Perspective is a huge thing. The smaller things in life are so much more precious. Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It’s just endless joy,” she told Vogue.

She also highlighted the equal partnership with her husband in raising their daughter: “We are 50-50 on everything. That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life – he is just the most amazing dad.”
