‘Guys I am dating a fool’: Mia Khalifa’s post sparks buzz amid Rowan Atkinson rumours | FACT CHECK

A viral social media post has sparked widespread speculation about an unlikely celebrity pairing between media personality Mia Khalifa and British comedian Rowan Atkinson, famous for portraying Mr. Bean. Throughout January 2026, users across Instagram, X and Facebook circulated an image purporting to show the two together, with many posts suggesting they were romantically involved.
However, fact-checkers and digital forensics experts have determined the claim to be baseless. The photograph fuelling the rumour is not genuine but an AI-generated creation that has been repeatedly misrepresented online.
AI-generated image triggers false dating claims
The picture first began circulating after a satirical Instagram page, @thedudehumorreport, shared a parody post claiming Atkinson and Khalifa had been secretly dating since mid-2025. The post included a fictional account of private yacht trips and supposed getaway photos.
Although the account identifies itself as satire, many users reposted the image without context, helping the false narrative spread widely. The Quint later reviewed the image and confirmed it was AI-generated, noting the absence of any authentic source photograph.
Reverse image searches also produced no matches, reinforcing that the viral photo did not originate from a real meeting between the two public figures.
Mia Khalifa debunks the rumour
Khalifa addressed the speculation directly on her official X account, writing: “guys I am dating a fool but it’s not Mr Bean.”
Her post quickly shut down the rumour, clarifying that while she is in a relationship, it does not involve Rowan Atkinson.
Rowan Atkinson has not commented on the online chatter. But the rumour has been widely dismissed, given his long-term relationship with actress Louise Ford. The pair have been together since 2013 and share a child, making the idea of a secret romance appear even more improbable.
The 71-year-old was last seen in the Netflix series, ‘Man vs Baby’, a follow-up to ‘Man vs Bee’, which started production in late 2024.
