Marvel just found its Emma Frost and fans won't believe who's playing her
Australian actress Samara Weaving is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking on the role of Emma Frost in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot. Best known for films like ‘Ready or Not’, ‘Scream VI’, ‘The Babysitter’, and ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing’, ‘Missouri’, Weaving is set to portray one of Marvel's most complex mutant characters.
Emma Frost has been in Marvel Comics, beginning as a powerful antagonist before becoming a key member of the X-Men. Known for her formidable telepathic abilities and diamond form, the character has long been one of the franchise's most popular mutants.
According to reports, a representative for Weaving declined to comment on the casting, while Marvel Studios has not officially responded to the news.

The announcement comes shortly after Marvel's major Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, where the studio confirmed several high-profile additions to its upcoming slate. Among the biggest reveals were Ryan Gosling joining the MCU as Ghost Rider and David Jonsson, known for ‘Alien: Romulus’, being cast as the new Black Panther in ‘Black Panther 3’.
Marvel has faced a challenging period at the box office following underwhelming performances from ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ and ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’. However, the studio appears to be regaining momentum with ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which is reportedly opening to record-breaking numbers. The Spider-Man films continue to be distributed by Sony Pictures.

The new ‘X-Men’ film will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously helmed ‘Thunderbolts’. Before the reboot arrives, several fan-favorite ‘X-Men’ actors from the Fox era, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden are set to return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, continuing Marvel's integration of the mutant universe following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019.
