Dubai: Actor Mammootty has said that audiences should not watch a film solely based on others’ opinions, but instead choose films according to their own preferences.

Speaking in Dubai during the Gulf release event of his film “Patriot”, Mammootty stressed that personal judgement matters more than external reviews. “We are living in an era where privacy is increasingly lost, and the film Patriot addresses this relevant subject,” he said.

The actor noted that varied opinions about films are natural. “There will be different views—good, bad, partly good, mostly good. Everyone is free to express their opinion as they feel. Some of you may have heard such opinions before coming here. Whatever it is, you will form your own view, and that is what matters. Films are made with the intention of being enjoyed by all,” he added.

He further reiterated that audiences should not be influenced by reviews or public commentary when deciding whether to watch a movie.

Patriot explores the growing loss of privacy in the digital age and the challenges of living in a cyber-connected world, a theme Mammootty described as highly relevant.

The audience responded warmly to his remarks, especially when he referred humorously to being “thirty years old” in his film career, which was met with applause.
