‘Time for new leadership’: Malayalam filmmaker B Unnikrishnan resigns as FEFKA general secretary

Kochi: In a major development for the Malayalam film industry, director B Unnikrishnan has resigned from his position as the general secretary of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA). Unnikrishnan, who has steered the federation for a prolonged period, officially attributed his departure to personal reasons.

Following his resignation, an emergency general council meeting was convened in Kochi on Friday, which Unnikrishnan attended. Reports suggest that while the resignation letter has been submitted, the organisation is yet to formally accept it.

Emphasising his stance that "new leadership should emerge”, Unnikrishnan expressed his desire to step aside to allow fresh faces to lead the federation. He has been at the forefront of FEFKA's leadership since its inception.
