He thought I was arrogant, blocked my contact for years, says Mahima Nambiar about Unni Mukundan

'Jai Ganesh', directed by Ranjith Sankar and starring Unni Mukundan and Mahima Nambiar in lead roles, is set to be released in theatres on Thursday.

The last time these actors appeared in the same movie was in the Mammootty starrer 'Masterpiece', released in 2017. Even though they worked together, Mahima says they didn't get to know each other well. She also claimed that Unni Mukundan blocked her number and didn't unblock her until the days of 'Jai Ganesh.'

"I called Udayettan (script writer Udaykrishna) to get Unni Mukundan's number. He is my godfather. I call him Udayan. I got Unni Mukundan's number from Udayan and sent a voice message on WhatsApp. 'Unni, I am Mahima. I believe you will get to know me. Udayan gave me your number. While saying this, I repeated the word Udayan two or three times. Unni listened to the voicemail and blocked me. I didn't understand why Unni did that. Later, Unni called Udayan and said, 'She is so arrogant, she calls you Udayan. Is this the way to address a senior?' My contact remained blocked for seven long years," she said during an interview.

Meanwhile, Unni Mukundan recalled the incident and revealed that he blocked her contact out of anger he felt at the time. "After blocking, I forgot about this incident. And after many years, I saw Mahima when she acted in RDX and became a hit. After that, Ranjith Shankar planned the film and informed me that Mahima would be the heroine. At that moment, I recalled that I had blocked her contact. Immediately, I unblocked her contact and sent a message. 'I am Unni. I am happy that you are acting in this film,'' Unni Mukundan said.
