Shreya Ghoshal–Hanan Shaah duet from ‘Magic Mushrooms’ strikes a chord with listeners

A new track from the upcoming Malayalam film ‘Magic Mushrooms’ has struck an emotional chord with listeners. The recently released song, performed by Shreya Ghoshal and Hanan Shaah, has been praised for its gentle composition and soothing delivery, quickly gaining attention among music fans.

The film marks actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan’s return to the big screen after the success of ‘Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan’. Directed by Nadirshah, ‘Magic Mushrooms’ is billed as a light-hearted, family-friendly entertainer and is scheduled for theatrical release on 23 January.

Nadirshah has also composed the film’s music, with lyrics penned by BK Harinarayanan. The newly launched track, ‘Thalodi Marayuvathevide Ne…’, represents the first musical collaboration between Ghoshal–long celebrated for her extensive catalogue of hit songs–and contemporary singer Hanan Shaah. Early listeners have responded warmly to the song’s simplicity, melodic charm and emotive vocals. Akshaya Udayakumar plays the female lead in the film.

‘Magic Mushrooms’ is produced by Ashraf Pilakkal under the Manjadi Creations banner. The screenplay, story and dialogue are written by newcomer Aakash Dev, with distribution handled by Bhavana Release.

Another number from the film, ‘Aaraane Aaraane…’, recently generated significant interest online. The track, featuring KS Chithra–known as the Nightingale of Malayalam–alongside Rimi Tomy, has gone viral and is trending on YouTube.

The ensemble cast includes Harisree Ashokan, Aju Varghese, Johny Antony, Jaffer Idukki, Boby Kuriakose, Sidharth Bharathan, Ashraf Pilakkal and Santhivila Dinesh, among others.

The soundtrack boasts an impressive roster of vocalists, among them Shankar Mahadevan, KS Chithra, Shreya Ghoshal, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Jassie Gift, Hanan Shaah, Rimi Tomy, Ranjini Jose and Khadeeja Nadirshah. Cinematography is by Sujith Vaassudev, with lyrics contributed by BK Harinarayanan, Santhosh Varma, Rajeev Alunkal, Rajeev Govindan and Yadukrishnan R.
