‘Look at this beauty...,’ Karan Johar applauds mom-to-be Kiara’s debut Met Gala moment

New York: Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar was among the first to shower praise on actress Kiara Advani following her show-stopping debut at the 2025 Met Gala, where she also made headlines by publicly revealing her baby bump for the first time.

Taking to Instagram, Johar wrote, “Look at this beauty!!! So stunning Ki. Mommy glow and fashion to bestow.....Love you Kiara. So gorg.” His comment quickly gained traction online, adding to the growing wave of admiration for the actress’s elegant and powerful Met Gala appearance.

Making her first-ever appearance at what is often dubbed “Hollywood’s biggest fashion night”, Kiara brought an ethereal presence to the blue carpet in a custom Gaurav Gupta couture gown. The striking black ensemble featured a sculptural golden breastplate and a dramatic double-panelled cape — a tribute to the late fashion icon André Leon Talley, known for his extravagant silhouettes and lasting influence on the industry.

Styled by celebrity fashion director Anaita Shroff Adajania, Kiara completed the look with chunky golden jewellery, nail charms, and soft wavy hair — all combining to highlight her radiant glow and the significance of the moment.

Reflecting on the experience, Kiara said, “Making my Met Gala debut at this point in my life, as both an artist and mother-to-be, feels incredibly special… This is a silent tribute… a reminder that everything we do paves the way for the next generation.”

Designer Gaurav Gupta titled the look ‘Bravehearts’, honouring Kiara’s journey into motherhood and aligning perfectly with the 2025 theme, ‘Tailoring Black Style’, which celebrated Black fashion, heritage, and individuality.

Kiara’s husband, actor Sidharth Malhotra, also expressed his pride and excitement online, sharing behind-the-scenes footage of her Met Gala preparation and writing in support of his wife’s milestone moment.
