'Cinema not sole cause of violence; blocking screening after censoring unjust': Film producers

Kochi: It is not fair to solely blame cinema for the rising incidents of violent crimes, the Producers' Association has stated. Cinema could be a contributing factor to violence in society, but it is not the only one. Films undergo a censoring system, whereas numerous programmes featuring violence and sex reach living rooms through OTT platforms and YouTube. Even video games played by young children are filled with excessive violence. Shouldn't there be regulations for those too? the association stated in a press release.
