Actor Babu Antony helps COVID affected fan

Kochi: Mollywood star Babu Antony turned saviour for his fan who contracted COVID-19 in Kerala. A female fan had sent a message to the actor explaining that she is terribly ill and experiencing  breathing problems.

“I am not well due to coronavirus infection. Please pray for me,” reads the message of the woman. Babu Antony was disturbed after reading the message.

“I am praying to God to keep me alive. I can’t speak and breathe. I have been drinking hot water. I have my daughter only as guardian. Her father abandoned us when she was only 3. If I die my child will become an orphan,” the woman wrote to Babu Antony.

Now, the woman and her daughter are safe.

Babu Antony’s timely intervention helped the mother and daughter. The actor forwarded the message to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Within 30 minutes, the district collector and team contacted the woman. After confirming the news, the woman was taken to hospital. 

Babu Antony expressed happiness in saving a life. 

“When I discussed the matter with my wife, she suggested to call someone in Kerala and confirm it. Then I phoned my friend director TS Suresh Babu and he gave CM’s number to me. I was hopeless while forwarding the message to the CM as I have no acquaintance with him. But the government intervened to help the family. It was like magic and I was surprised, said Babu Antony.

The woman, a native of Kollam, was taken to Ernakulam for COVID treatment.  After getting discharged from the hospital, she sent a message of gratitude to the actor.

“I am fine. No issues now. I won’t forget your help in my life. I want to meet you once,” reads the message to the actor.
