Kamal Haasan's Raajkamal Films warns against casting fraud, says no agents hired

Aspiring actors and social media users have been warned against fraudulent casting offers being circulated in the name of Kamal Haasan's production house, Raajkamal Films International.

The production banner issued a public clarification on Tuesday, stating that it has not hired any casting agents for any of its films. It urged people not to trust emails, messages or social media posts claiming to offer casting opportunities on behalf of the company.

In its statement shared through its official X account, Raajkamal Films International said it was issuing the clarification to prevent people from falling prey to unauthorised individuals using the banner's name.

“This is to clarify that Raajkamal Films International has not hired any casting agents for any of our films. Please do not trust any emails, messages and social media posts received by you for this purpose,” the statement said.

Legal action warning

The Kamal Haasan-backed banner also warned of legal consequences against anyone found misusing the company's name without authorisation.

It said legal action would be initiated against parties found falsely using the name of Raajkamal Films International in an unauthorised manner.

The warning comes as casting-related scams and fake audition messages continue to circulate online, with fraudsters often impersonating production houses and entertainment companies to approach aspiring actors.

Raajkamal Films and its journey

Founded by Kamal Haasan in 1981 along with his brothers under the name Haasan Brothers, the production house was later renamed Raajkamal Films International.

Its first major production was the 1981 drama Raja Paarvai, which featured Kamal Haasan in the lead role.

Over the years, the banner has backed several popular films, including Apoorva Sagodharargal (1989), Thevar Magan (1992), Virumaandi (2004), Vishwaroopam (2013) and the blockbuster Vikram (2022).

Rajinikanth's 'Dharman' next

Raajkamal Films International is currently backing superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming drama Dharman.

The makers recently announced the completion of the film's second schedule. Sharing the update on social media, Raajkamal Films International posted, “Dharman 2nd Schedule Wrapped. Swag Mode: ON.”

The announcement also featured a clip showing Rajinikanth appearing as a senior medical faculty member addressing junior doctors.
