‘It’s better to die than...’ Dhyan Sreenivasan recalls father’s savage remark after watching his film

During the promotions of his upcoming film ‘Raveendra Nee Evide?’, actor Dhyan Sreenivasan shared a brutally honest comment his father once made. He said that Sreenivasan asked him to not stay alive after watching one of his films.
In a recent interview with a YouTube channel, Dhyan opened up about the moment his father, actor Sreenivasan, caught one of his movies on TV.
“When I returned from the set one day, Achan said he watched a film of mine. But his next question was, ‘Why did I agree to act in such films when I know movies like this won’t work at the box office?’” Dhyan recalled, laughing.
Dhyan explained that the film was made by a group of newcomers and said, “That’s how life goes.” But Sreenivasan hilariously responded, “It’s better not to live than living like this.”
He went on to share another funny dig from his dad, who apparently even mocked his acting choices by referring to a scheme by AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists).
“I heard that AMMA is giving Rs 5,000 for retiring actors who are facing hardships… I may get it this year, but I’ll tell them I don’t want it, instead give it to you,” Sreenivasan said.
Laughing at his father's dry humour, Dhyan said, “This is a typical day of my life.”
A ‘Major Ravi’ love story
The interview took a funny turn when he was asked about first love. Instead of answering for himself, he decided to pull Major Ravi’s leg.
Joking about the actor’s time in service, Dhyan said, “A ‘Major Ravi love story’ would have happened in Kashmir during his time of service. The pretty woman was walking along Dal Lake with a basket full of grenades and bombs!”
