Hrithik Roshan on Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike: 'I learnt about the trauma when...'

As Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike entered its 20th day, actor Hrithik Roshan became the latest film personality to publicly express support for the activist. His reaction comes days after several celebrities, including Zeenat Aman, Prakash Raj, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Swara Bhasker and Abhay Deol, shared messages on the issue.
Hrithik reposted actor Lisa Ray's social media post featuring Wangchuk speaking about the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and its impact on students. In the video, Wangchuk questioned the public's silence and referred to the emotional toll the alleged irregularities had taken on students preparing for the examination.

Reacting to the clip, Hrithik wrote, "This sounds true. I learnt about the trauma students go through when I played a teacher in one of my movies."
The actor was referring to ‘Super 30’, in which he portrayed mathematician and educator Anand Kumar. The 2019 film focused on the challenges faced by students from underprivileged backgrounds as they prepared for competitive entrance examinations.
Wangchuk, 59, has been on an indefinite fast for 20 days, seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over allegations linked to irregularities and the reported paper leak in the NEET-UG examination held on May 3. The protest has drawn attention on social media, with several members of the film industry continuing to weigh in.
