The upcoming Harry Potter television adaptation at HBO has unveiled the next wave of casting, adding nine actors to its expanding lineup. Katherine Parkinson will take on the role of Molly Weasley, while Lox Pratt has been chosen to play Draco Malfoy. Johnny Flynn steps into the role of Lucius Malfoy, and Leo Earley joins as Seamus Finnigan.

The latest update also includes Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, and Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby as Petunia and Vernon Dursley, respectively. Bertie Carvel has been cast as Cornelius Fudge. The casting aims to strike a balance between established performers and new talent, keeping both loyal fans and first-time viewers engaged.

According to an exclusive report by Variety, the casting of the Dursleys marks a fresh direction for the characters in this long-awaited reboot. These actors will join the earlier announced leads—Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

The central roles will also be portrayed by a strong ensemble, including John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Professor Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch. Filming is set to begin in the U.K. later this summer.

The Harry Potter series has been described as a "faithful adaptation" of the beloved books by JK Rowling, who is executive producing while continuing to court controversy.

The TV series is written and executive-produced by Francesca Gardiner, who serves as showrunner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of Harry Potter, produced by HBO in association with Bronte Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is also executive produced by Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Bronte Film and TV, as well as David Heyman of Heyday Films, according to Deadline.
