Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ teaser disappoints, fans call it a recycled clip

Mumbai: The much-awaited teaser for ‘Dhurandhar 2’, titled ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ was unveiled on Tuesday, but excitement quickly gave way to disappointment as viewers realised the clip was largely a rehashed end-credit sequence from the first film, set to music.
The sequel, written, directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, resumes the story of Hamza Ali Mazhari, an undercover Indian intelligence agent who has infiltrated Pakistan’s underworld. Following the downfall of Rehman Dakait, Hamza now faces his most formidable adversary yet – Major Iqbal, the ISI mastermind known as Bade Sahab.
The teaser, which features scenes of extreme violence, explosions and gunfire, dampened anticipation for the sequel to the record-breaking spy thriller. Ranveer Singh reprises his role as the undercover Indian agent infiltrating Pakistan’s criminal and ISI networks, with the film continuing directly from where the first instalment ended.
Despite the underwhelming teaser, the soundtrack has already sparked interest, with audiences expecting another chart-topping album after the success of the original.

Earlier on Tuesday, the makers had released a striking new poster that set the tone for the next instalment of the blockbuster spy-action franchise.
Ranveer shared the poster on Instagram, drenched in ominous red hues and rain-soaked intensity, with the actor staring ahead in fierce defiance. Behind him, the words “THE REVENGE” are carved into a blood-red wall, while the release date looms at the top.
The first Dhurandhar film, starring Ranveer alongside R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal, centred on a covert counter-terrorism mission inspired by real-life events including the IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Presented by Jio Studios and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar under B62 Studios, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ promises a darker, more ferocious chapter when it hits cinemas worldwide on 19 March 2026 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It will clash at the box office with Yash’s ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, setting up one of the year’s biggest cinematic battles.
