Chennai: Commenting on actor Vijay’s political journey and campaign prospects, Makkal Needhi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan said that the crowds gathering in support of Vijay will not automatically translate into votes.

He further said that the same applies not only to Vijay but also to himself.

Kamal was addressing the media in Chennai on Sunday after a meeting with party functionaries as part of preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections.

“Vijay should move forward with courage. He must work for the people,” he added.

‘Mohanlal, an outstanding actor’

He also congratulated Mohanlal on winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour in Indian cinema.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Kamal Haasan said there is nothing surprising about Mohanlal receiving the award, as he is such an outstanding actor.
