Samantha Ruth Prabhu to headline Celebrity MasterChef Tamil on Sony VIZHA and Sony LIV

Chennai: Samantha Ruth Prabhu is set to headline Celebrity MasterChef Tamil, bringing the globally popular culinary format to Tamil audiences on Sony VIZHA and Sony LIV.
The show, announced by Sony Pictures Networks India on Saturday, will bring together some of the biggest names in Tamil entertainment as they swap film and television sets for the kitchen. Contestants will face a series of culinary challenges, unexpected twists and the pressure of creating dishes that impress both the judges and viewers.
Produced by Banijay Asia, Celebrity MasterChef Tamil will draw from the global MasterChef format while giving the show a distinctly Tamil identity through local flavours, familiar personalities and the chemistry of Tamil celebrity culture.
Samantha will headline the show as celebrities take on demanding cooking challenges, experiment with recipes and compete against one another in the kitchen.
Speaking about the show, Samantha said she was excited to share a project that was unlike anything she had done before.
“Food has a wonderful way of bringing people together, creating memories, and revealing a side of you that the cameras don’t usually get to see,” she said.
She added that she was particularly looking forward to watching Tamil celebrities take risks, make mistakes and surprise themselves in the kitchen.
The makers have kept the identities of the participating celebrities under wraps for now, with Samantha teasing that revealing the contestants would take away from the fun.
The show will be a key entertainment offering on Sony VIZHA and will also stream on Sony LIV. The digital rollout will include exclusive short-form content offering viewers a closer look at the celebrities, their culinary journeys, challenges and memorable moments from the kitchen.
With food, celebrity, competition and Tamil cultural flavours at its centre, Celebrity MasterChef Tamil promises a new take on the celebrity cooking format.
The show is set to premiere soon on Sony VIZHA and Sony LIV, with additional content across digital and social media platforms.
