RM, the leader of global K-pop sensation BTS, has reached a major milestone in his solo career, becoming one of only three Korean male rappers to surpass three billion streams across platforms.

This achievement places RM alongside his bandmates SUGA and J-Hope in the elite club of Korean solo artists to cross the multi-billion streaming threshold.

Recognised not only for his leadership of BTS but also for his intellectual pursuits and artistic depth, RM (real name Kim Namjoon) has cultivated a distinct solo identity. His music is lauded for its introspective lyrics, genre-blending compositions, and philosophical undertones – qualities that have resonated with listeners worldwide.

His prolific solo output includes two mixtapes and two full-length studio albums, securing his place as one of South Korea’s most influential rapper-songwriters.

‘Wild Flower’ drives streaming success

Among RM’s most celebrated tracks is ‘Wild Flower’, a collaboration with Youjeen, which alone accounts for a massive share of his total streams. The track’s immense popularity has helped propel RM into the top 10 most-streamed K-pop soloists in Spotify history, and he is now the third male Korean rapper to achieve this distinction.

According to recent data from Music Charts, RM’s catalogue has amassed over 2.8 billion streams on Spotify alone, with over 2 billion streams on tracks where he appears as the lead artist. In total, his music has reached 1.1 billion listeners, and his collaborative tracks with other musicians have collected an additional 724 million plays.

Daily, RM’s music receives over 1.26 million streams, including:

  • 916,990 from his main tracks
  • 537,909 from solo releases
  • 347,843 from featured appearances

His Spotify discography currently includes 31 lead artist songs, 17 solo tracks, and 10 features.
