AMMA Vice President Jayan Cherthala calls for transparent investigation into Siddique's resignation

Actor and AMMA Vice President Jayan Cherthala has called for a thorough and direct investigation following Siddique's resignation from his position as AMMA General Secretary. Jayan emphasised that resignations should not be seen as the only solution when allegations arise. Instead, those accused should step down temporarily to face a proper investigation.
The actor also stressed that public figures like politicians and filmmakers have a responsibility to society. He said that any allegations should be investigated transparently and without delay.
Jayan recalled that previous administrations, especially the ones before he became AMMA's vice president, were criticised for slow responses to issues, including a cyber attack against Mammootty. He wanted AMMA to handle allegations more effectively.
The recent allegation against Siddique, which had surfaced before, was not properly investigated at the time. Jayan admitted this was a mistake and reiterated his commitment to ensure that AMMA addresses such issues correctly moving forward.
He also acknowledged the presence of power groups within the organisation, a situation he believes was previously underestimated. Jayan stated that such groups cannot be tolerated and stressed the need for accountability and fairness within AMMA.
The actor also mentioned that the executive committee would consider everyone's availability and make decisions appropriately.
