Hyderabad: A growing trend of celebrities being overwhelmed by crowds in Hyderabad continued on Saturday evening, with actor Allu Arjun and his wife Sneha Reddy becoming the latest to face an unruly fan gathering during a public outing.

Clips shared widely on social media show the actor struggling to navigate through a sudden swell of fans outside a venue. Holding Sneha’s hand, Allu Arjun is seen carefully escorting her to their car as security personnel attempted to control the crowd. Despite repeated appeals for space, the situation appeared tense before the couple finally managed to leave.

The actor later acknowledged fans with a folded-hand gesture before departing, a moment many online users interpreted as an attempt to defuse the chaos.

The episode adds to a series of recent incidents involving film personalities in the city. Just days earlier, actors Nidhhi Agerwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu were caught in similar situations, sparking public concern over crowd management at celebrity appearances.

Nidhhi Agerwal faced a frightening experience while exiting a promotional event for The Raja Saab at a Kukatpally mall, where fans reportedly surged towards her. Visuals showed the actor appearing visibly shaken as she tried to reach her vehicle amid the pushing. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, too, encountered a disorderly crowd at a separate event shortly afterwards, reinforcing fears that safety measures at public gatherings are failing to keep pace with celebrity footfalls.

For Allu Arjun, the latest crowd scare comes amid heightened scrutiny. The actor was recently named in a chargesheet related to a stampede during the pre-release event of Pushpa 2: The Rule at a theatre in RTC Cross Roads on December 4, 2024. The incident claimed the life of a woman, Revathi, and injured several others.

Investigators have named multiple stakeholders in the case, including event organisers, theatre officials, security staff, and people linked to fan associations.
