Actor Kamal Roy, brother of Urvashi, Kalpana and Kalaranjini, passes away

Kamal Roy, brother of renowned actors Urvashi, Kalpana, and Kalaranjini, has passed away. He appeared in several Malayalam films, including Sayujyam, Kollilakkam, Manju, Kingini, Kalyanasougandhikam, Vachalam, Shobhanam, The King Maker, and Leader.

Kamal was also featured in the song Innum Ente Kannuneeril from Yuvajanolsavam, and his villainous performance in Kalyanasougandhikam was widely appreciated.

Director Vinayan expressed his condolences, recalling, “Actor Kamal Roy passed away. He played Dileep’s villain in Kalyanasougandhikam. I remember Sukumari chechi telling me about him at the time. Kamal is the brother of Urvashi, Kalpana, and Kalaranjini.”

Kamal was the son of Chavara V.P. Nair and Vijayalakshmi. Another brother, the late actor Nandu, also belonged to the family.
