‘Steroid is taking headaches away…but I can’t keep taking it’: Aamir Khan reveals health battle

Actor Aamir Khan recently opened up about his weight gain, clarifying that it is the result of a medical treatment he is undergoing for migraines.
The actor, who appeared at the 4th Season of Ajivasan Act in Mumbai, drew attention both for his soulful singing and his fuller appearance. In a recent interview with Deccan Chronicle, Aamir revealed that the change in his physique is due to steroid treatment prescribed for ongoing migraine issues.
“I have been having migraines for some time, and for that I need to be on steroid treatment. That causes me to put on weight, I can’t help it,” he said. The actor added that while the steroids help ease the headaches, doctors have yet to pinpoint the root cause of his condition. “They’re not able to figure out why it’s happening. The steroid is taking the headaches away. But I can’t keep taking steroids. Sometimes, you know, it’s difficult to diagnose exactly why things are happening. I understand it’s complicated,” he shared.
Aamir further mentioned that he has already started working on his fitness again in preparation for his next project, though the film has not been officially announced yet.
At the event, Aamir wore a blue printed kurta and performed on stage, winning applause from fans. While some on social media speculated that he was gaining weight for a role, possibly the biopic on cinema pioneer Dadasaheb Phalke, the actor clarified that it is purely a health-related issue.
Aamir Khan was last seen in Sitaare Zameen Par, a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par. He also made a cameo in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming film Coolie, which stars Rajinikanth.
